Not just any old Balls, Advice for Low Testosterone and Testosterone replacement

Low Testosterone and feeling Dizzy Day 4

I’m now getting right into the swing of this stopping Testosterone lark. No PCT’s I’m just going for it cold turkey style. I wonder whether I have done the right thing  here? I’m still getting dizzy spells which always seems to worsen as my Testosterone gets Lower.  I mean everywhere I look. I see guys in the US getting prescribed all kinds of drugs for getting off TRT.  Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate)/ HCG etc, it sounds like a junkies paradise! It’s bad enough having to supplement Low T, Thyroid and High Prolactin. There are just too many variables with this wide array of pharmaceuticals. Even this amount of gear would make Michael Jackson’s doctor blush, allegedly.

Do I need to use a PCT to get off Testosterone replacement? It seems common practice in the US, but Cold Turkey is just the ticket in the UK.

It’s always going to be difficult to know whether you are making the right decision especially when you see that other countries have very different drug administrations laws about which drugs can be used for certain medical conditions. You would think that Americans are biologically different from the rest of humanity. Or maybe this is due to private health insurance and depending upon the cover you have , so varies the level of treatment?

Just because the UK doesn’t agree necessarily that these drugs are required to restart a shutdown HPTA system. IF they are proven to help more than  ‘just doing nothing’ and it’s all really just down to just the ‘cost’ factor. I should be given that choice if I wish to pay for that treatment. So I am at a crossroads right now, trying to get my HPTA restarted and I am just going cold turkey off the Testosterone and just hoping that my body picks up on this and starts to work. Meanwhile it could take up to a year for this to happen and in the meantime I’m having to deal with Low T and all of its nasty side effects.

Been getting Dizzy Spells while stopping TRT. I have had dizziness since being Diagnosed with Low Testosterone.

feeling dizzy with Low T

Feeling Dizzy with Low Testosterone

This is something that I should really have mentioned sooner. In the early days before any diagnosis. It was often the dizzy spells that alarmed me most. When looking up side effects of Low T, dizziness appears to be one of those things that blights most of us. For some guys with Low T, more serious dizzy spells occur and this is likely to be one of the worst symptoms that affect us.

I also have a sensation of blocked ears alot of the time especially when I get this whole dizziness come on. I had bad sinus problems at the time all of my problems started up and I will never really know if that somehow damaged my pituitary gland.

But I do know now that either I have some kind of long running middle ear infection OR it’s just associated with Low T and there just hasn’t been any real CONCLUSIVE evidence to nail it down as such. But it really does seem very strange that alot of us suffer from being Dizzy while we are suffering from having a Low Testosterone count.

Hi, I understand what you are going through. I have been on TRT for 2 years now. In the beginning, it was great. The increased energy, libido, ability to remember stuff, and sleep again, were fantastic. But then it all seemed to go downhill rapidly. It seemed I needed more testosterone, but after taking more I would feel worse.

I later discovered that this is due to the testosterone being down regulated into E2, which then down regulates your T even more. Genetically, at this point, our testosterone level is governed, and now it is naturally very low, so the body is constantly trying to reduce it by converting it to E2. Once again you become Estrogen dominant pretty quickly. One of the only things that can adjust this and keep your free testosterone level up, is to use a SERM. An estrogen regulator, such as Tamoxifen. Most doctors will not prescribe this, even when you show them your newly developed tits, but a Endocrinologist should know better.

The other side effect of taking exo Testosterone is the lethargy, ever increasing aches, and eventual brain fog. I have recently discovered this is due to a lack of pregnenolone, and thus Dhea. When you take exo T, the feed back loop shuts down your production of pregnenolone. Pregnenolone is converted from LDL cholesterol, so if your body thinks you don’t need it, but your liver keeps pumping out LDL. Pregnenolone is needed to converts into the other essential hormones, such as Dhea, progesterone, cortisol, estrogen, and Testosterone, via the adrenal glands. When on TRT, you can deplete your body of these hormones over time as you no longer produce pregnenolone from LDL..then you go into adrenal fatigue and feel like shit.

I have found taking a very small  amount of pregnenolone cream rubbed into my inside forearms about (5mg of pregnenolone) once a week, and taking 10mg of dhea every morning alleviates the brain fog, aches, increases libido, and makes me feel like going to the gym again. A SERM is essential though, but without it, I still feel  100% better.

It was bad enough before taking the pregnenolone and dhea that I couldn’t hardly find the energy to get out of bed. I had no energy for my wife or children, and certainly couldn’t walk far.

You can’t take too much of preg or dhea, as these can cause too much cortisol and fast irregular heartbeats. In addition it is wise to monitor blood sugar frequently. Doing this under the supervision of a doctor is advised. I am not a doctor, and this is just my opinion from my personal experience. good luck

I apologise.. The first line of the last paragraph should say “you can take too much preg or dhea, as these can cause too much cortisol and fast irregular heartbeats. “

Thankyou for making that amendment RB Glasgow, It’s strange but it all starts to fit into place when you mention all of the symptoms!

Once again, thanks for sharing your knowledge!

I just want to thank you for this comment. I haven’t heard it put quite as simply as this anywhere else. I didn’t really ever look into the other hormones. After all you would like to think that your Endo would do all of this with your best interest at heart…

I will actually ask my Endo at my next appointment whether they have looked into this. Seems pretty bloody crucial to me!

You can probably tell that the real reason why I am coming off TRT is just a poor treatment regime. I don’t want to HAVE to start self medicating just to feel better. Although don’t get me wrong, if that’s what it takes,, Then that is what I would do.

The whole Sustanon 250 shot once every 3 weeks here in the UK, turned me from a sane rational calm person into an occasionally angry, often anxious wreck. All because of the ‘ride the rocket to mars’ then plummet effect that this kind of dose frequency brings about.

I am so glad that you are feeling alot better taking a SERM. I completely relate to you struggling to get out of bed and dealing with family life etc. If my HPTA restart is unsuccessful then I will certainly consider taking these other supplements.

I hope you are still feeling well now.

      best wishes

Hi I have the exact same symptoms as written about as now coming off trt nebido which i found much better than sustanon. But any way have now been weened off trt and am not taking any at the moment my last shot was about 15 weeks ago 2ml nebido now i am also gettin the dizzy spells more so in the morning and easing off towards the end of the day its really annoying and if does not go soon will be back at docs to see if i can go back on trt nebido this has been my worst symptom of coming off trt and must be something to do witj it

Hi, thanks for following my posts. It really is an absolute ba$tard the symptoms of Low T. I am so glad that you found NEBIDO to be a better product than SUSTANON. I hope other readers here take heart from that. I was pretty scared to even consider nebido I just couldn’t imagine what the panic attacks etc would be like if they lasted me 10 or so weeks.
Got to ask, why are you coming off TRT? Do you know the reason why you are low T in the first place? Or is it just ‘ideopathic’?  Hang in there mate. I too have been off TRT now for 12 weeks and I’m seeing some improvements as you can see here

    http://www.mytestosteronetherapy.com/how-i-am-increasing-my-low-testosterone-naturally/

Don’t be scared to chat with your doctor about going back on TRT. I understand you and know just why you feel that way.  I get the dizziness almost every day, somedays very little, others pretty heavy.  I wish you luck, Let us know how you get on!

  • Ccompton1984

Hi again the reason i have low T is self inflicted I was young and very stupid and started taking steroids i feel a bit embarrassed about that as u guys probably have genuine medical problems. Anyway my story is i started taking steroids age 19 and became i guess mentally addicted it wasn’t until i was 26 I went to doc’s about trying to come of after several etempts on my own which were unsuccessful. I was given a plan to be weaned off slowly starting whith sus every 3weeks but found it awful real bad ups and downs then I was put on the full dose of nebido 4ml every 12 week’s which ifelt great on but they have gradually been reducing the dose to where I am now which is completely off it my last blood test said my T levels were at 13 and the normal range was between 10 and 30 not sure on what measuring technique that is. But i still get this real bad dizzy feelings mostly in the morning which doc told me was because are body’s naturally give us a boost Of T in the morning’s and it will take a while for my body to ajust. But i also have had bad sinus problems in the past when my t has felt low and have wonderd if low t was causing sinus problems which make u feel dizy who knows i will keep u posted on my progress nice to speak to someone who understands

Hey mate, don’t worry about being embarrassed about how you ended up in this mess. I reckon we are all in it together at any rate.I think you’ve been shutdown for quite a while between the ages of 19 to 26. BUT, I think it does indeed take a while for the body to adjust to things.

I’m glad that you mention Nebido being good for you. I too will consider Nebido should I have to go back onto TRT BUT I really don’t want to give up just yet.

Don’t give up on going natural unless you really have to. You can see from my latest post all of my labs you can see that the highest I’ve ever had was 13.4 But I’m really hoping it will keep picking up.  For my age I’m looking to sit about 20 in the range. (almost 40)  You should probably be about mid 20′s.

Im so amazed you mention the dizziness and the sinus blocked ears thing. BINGO.. They are my worst symptoms!!!! Pretty much every day. The only difference between us is I feel almost human in the morning and awful at night/ evening time. But I reckon that may be down to adrenal issues? Not sure?

How’s your thyroid function?  Make sure that’s been checked too.

Really good to chat with someone else in the same boat too!

I hope you start feeling better, please keep me upto date with your progress.

      good luck

  • Ccompton1984

Hi again I have decided to go back to drs tomorrow i have had enough of feeling this way. I find u start telling yourself that being like this is normal when it clearly is not when i speak to my friends about sex drive and stuff t related i realise how bad my symptoms are it is not normal for a 28 year old to have no intrest in sex and not be able to sleep and feel dizzy all the time so i have decided im going to ask to go on trt for life and see what they say i will let you know what happens. Hopefully they won’t try and palm me of with anti depressents as the problem is clearly hormone relate i will post tomorrow and tell u what they say

Hey there!  It’s good that you are being proactive about getting and feeling better. Don’t fret or feel bad that you are looking at getting onto TRT. In some cases it’s going to be the right decision. I guess it just depends on how long you have been waiting for your own body to recover?

After waiting so long perhaps going on TRT is the right thing? It will certainly improve things like heart, circulation and bone density.  NOT forgetting removing those god awful side effects we get from being Low T. It may give you back that enjoyment of life that we often seem to miss out on.

I have been having exactly the same side effects as you and I agree it’s bloody devastating.

I’m sure that they will treat you with TRT, But be aware if you are Low Normal/ bordeline like I think you are, they will most likely not treat you with TRT. But that will probably depend on the Endo you see.

The range for normal test in my area is 11-36  so it sounds close to the range they have measured you at.

I don’t think 14 is that bad Honestly!!!  3 months ago when I stopped TRT mine was at 6 !!!    my last bloods taken on monday were 10.6  SO I still have a long way to go..  But that’s higher than the previous 8.8  My next Endo appt is in 3 months time. So I am aiming for at least 15.. (and then set my next target of 20!!) I could fail massively here. BUT WE all need a target and I’m going to keep trying.

I have decided to give myself “A year to save my life”  IF after a year of being off TRT then I will look at going back on again.  BUT you know as well as I do that injecting or gels are a real PITA for the rest of your life it’s just knowing when is the right time to admit defeat.

GO and see your doctor and see what they say.  I will have my fingers crossed for you mate.. Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Hi. Went to Dr’s today and have decided to stick with plan A which is to give it a bit more time to try and recover. I think yesterday i was having one of those real bad days you sometimes get you probably know what i mean feel a bit better today will keep you posted on any progress I would just like to say i think your doing really well with your mission to be trt free for life and if it works which im sure it will. it will be well. Worth it. But if you do decide to go back on trt i think nebido would definitely be worth a try good luck and speak soon mate

Hey, we all have bad days mate, some days are alot worse than others don’t we both know it eh! lol
I have been having insomnia the last few nights with about 2 hrs sleep. I think it’s a change in my medication- I just got changed from cabergoline generic to Dostinex for my Prolactin and my brain is like it’s been wired NOT to turn off.  Not to mention the headaches. So I’m changing over to Norprolac (let’s see what side effects that brings eh!)

Thanks for your words of encouragement mate, it’s a daily grind but I keep on dreaming of a future where I don’t ache and I feel “content”- with the world. Fed up with moaning and this ache and that lol.  But I reckon keep on with small gains and I will get there!! (my fingers are crossed).  But If you do feel that you think it’s time to get back on TRT please don’t feel like you have let yourself down. Not in the slightest, But I think the longer you have stayed off the more you have attempted to get back to normal health. You don’t ever really want to end up in the position where I was in always thinking and wondering if you can go natural but ended up being fully HPTA shutdown.

Stay in touch and let me know how you are doing please!

          I wish you well!

  • Ccompton1984

Fantastic news! I am really happy for you, that’s brilliant. A real example of what toughing it out can achieve. You deserve it mate. I hope that I too will get there soon! I will post up and let you guys know my next blood results.

So how long after stopping TRT did you get back up to a level of 19? hope you don’t mind me asking..

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi thanks I’m really pleased. I had My last shot of nebido at the beginning of Jan and it was a lower dose only 2ml instead of 4ml . I had some real hard time’s staying off was really bad around mid march but then it was quite strange i just started feeling better day by day and now feel completely normal. Keep going with what you are doing because it is really worth it if you can recover keep going mate
